Flipping books and records: edition, condition and postage
The short answer: Low purchase cost does not make every book or record a worthwhile flip. Identify the edition or pressing, check condition and count postage and storage.

For books, record the ISBN where present, edition, printing, binding and any missing dust jacket. Older or collectible books may need identification from the title and copyright pages.
For records, identify the catalogue number and pressing details. Compare the media and sleeve condition separately; a similar cover does not establish the same release.
Avoid buying a shelf of slow stock
Check several relevant completed sales and the current competing supply. One unusually high sale is a poor basis for buying a bulk lot.
Count packaging, weight, postage and the time needed to inspect and list each item. Only include access codes or extras when their presence and usability are established.
